Courses & Certification
Should I take the 1-day or 2-day course?
If you’ve operated a forklift before and just need certification, take the 1-day course. If you’re new or it’s been a while, take the 2-day course — day one is hands-on practice, day two is testing and refinement. If we see on day one that you’re already confident, we can switch you to the 1-day rate.
Are the two days consecutive?
They can be. Lots of people also split them — for example, two Saturdays in a row, or one weekday plus a later weekend. Just pick your Start Date when you register and we’ll arrange day two with you.
What classes of forklift do you certify?
- Class 1 — Sit-down counterbalance (electric)
- Class 2 — Narrow-aisle reach truck
- Class 3 — Walkie / pallet jack (only theory portion)
- Class 4 — Sit-down counterbalance (cushion tire)
- Class 5 — Sit-down counterbalance (pneumatic tire)
Most courses cover Classes 1, 4 and 5 (all sit-down machines). Class 2 (narrow-aisle reach truck) is included on request.
Do you train walkie / pallet jack / pump trucks?
No — we currently do not offer walkie / pallet jack (Class 3) practical training. IF you need to be recertified on that machine we can help you to renew your license.
Do you train skid-steer, scissor lift, or aerial work platforms?
Not at this time. We specialize in forklifts (Classes 1–5). For skid-steer or aerial/scissor lift certification, we’re happy to refer you to a partner provider.
Do you offer online or virtual forklift training?
Yes — we offer the theory portion online. You can read more about it here.
How long is my forklift certificate valid?
Three years, per WorkSafeBC. After that you need to recertify.
When and how do I recertify?
If you already have forklift certification and need a renewal, book our Forklift Renewal (Recertification) option any time before (or shortly after) your card expires. We also send reminder emails when your three years are almost up.
Is FiveStar certification recognized?
Yes. Our training meets CSA B335-15 and WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation Part 16 requirements. WorkBC and WorkSafeBC regularly send their clients to us for training, and BC employers accept our certificate.

When's your next class?
See our course schedule. To lock in a seat, choose a course first, then pick the date that works for you.
Do I need a driver's licence?
No. A driver’s licence is not required to take or pass the course, and it is not required by WorkSafeBC to operate a forklift on a worksite. Anyone can train and certify.
Is English required?
No. We’ve trained many newcomers to Canada — if your English is limited, we’ll walk you through the test and help you understand the questions. The forklifts don’t speak either, so if you can drive, you can pass.
Is there an age requirement?
We don’t have a set age requirement on our side. Some employers may require 18+ for insurance reasons, so check with your employer before registering.
What should I wear and bring?
Closed-toe shoes (steel-toe boots are not required, but welcome)
We provide cheeseburgers for lunch, plus water and coffee. If you’d rather bring your own lunch (dietary preference, allergies, or just personal choice), feel free — bring whatever you like.
No need for hi-vis, hard hat, or gloves — we provide what’s needed in the warehouse.
What time does it start and end?
We start at 10:00 a.m. and finish at 3:00 p.m. Sometimes we may finish a bit earlier, but please plan for 3:00. Please don’t arrive before 9:45 a.m. — we’re a working warehouse and have morning duties to wrap up first.
What does a typical day look like?
Classroom theory in the morning, hands-on driving in the afternoon, computer based test, practical evaluation, certificate the same day. Easy.
When do I get my certificate?
Same day — A physical copy, plus a printed wallet card before you leave. Employers and sponsors can also download it from their portal at any time.
What does it cost?
Click on the Courses button on the black navigation bar above.
What if I don't pass on day one?
For 2-day course students, day two is built-in for extra practice and a re-test. For 1-day students, we can add an extra practice day for $100.
Can you help me find a job?
Finding a job is ultimately up to you, however we can definitely help. At the end of your training, we can provide you with a list of our employers, who are located in your area.
